His position within the royal family is special because he is the youngest child of Prince of Wales Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales. Prince Harry grew up with his siblings, including his brother William, Prince of Wales, who is now known as the Prince of Wales.

On May 8, 2005, Harry entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst after passing the Regular Commissions Board (RCB) in September 2004, becoming Officer Cadet Wales and joining Alamein Company. As he recuperated from an injury to his left knee, he had to delay his admission to the academy for 4 months. In April 2006, Harry completed his officer training and was commissioned as a Cornet (second lieutenant) in the Blues and Royals, a regiment of the Household Cavalry in the British Army. Harry became a lieutenant on April 13, 2008 after completing two years of seniority.

Prince Harry has chosen to become a pilot for an Apache helicopter. He began training at the Defence Helicopter Flying School at RAF Shawbury after meeting the required standards and received his Apache Flying Badge on April 14, 2011.
