An Irish mother and British father were the parents of Mischa Barton, who was born in Hammersmith, London on January 24, 1986. In addition to Hania and Zoe, her parents were also responsible for raising her two sisters.

Barton joined the St. Paul’s Girls School community in Hammersmith. She obtained American citizenship after moving to New York.

At the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, he graduated with flying colors before enrolling at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

He had a three-season stint on the American television series ‘All My Children’ before joining the OC ensemble. In 2000, she starred in ‘Frankie and Hazle’ on Showtime as Frankie, the main character, alongside Joan Plowright.

After leaving ‘The OC’, he appeared in the 2006 film ‘The Oh in Ohio’ with Parker Posey, Danny DeVito, and Paul Rudd. She starred in John Duigan’s Sundance hit ‘Lawn’ before that.

In 2007, Barton was charged with DUI and later passed out in 2009 after being administered a sedative by her parents. She was taken to the Cedars-Sinai psychiatric unit in Los Angeles under unsupervised custody after threatening herself.
