Radric Delantic Davis, better known by his stage name Gucci Mane, is an American hip hop artist who has paved the way for ‘trap music’, a subgenre of hip hop. He is also known as Radric Delantic Davis and his stage name is Gucci Mane. During his childhood, he started writing verses and experimenting with rap music at the age of 14. His own album titled ‘Trap House’ featured the song ‘Icy’, with the vocals of Young Jeezy, his colleague and rapper. Even though the song was well-received by music fans and enthusiasts, the promising rappers’ collaboration fell apart due to a messy dispute over the single’s copyrights.
Soon after, Gucci was arrested for murder after a colleague used a firearm against a group of alleged thugs who were attempting to take over Gucci’s brand ‘So Icy’. He served a six-month sentence for mugging after the murder case was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. Biography
In Bessemer, Alabama, on February 12, 1980, Gucci Mane, an American rapper and composer, was born. Throughout his childhood, Ralph Everett Dudley and Vicky Jean Davis were the ones who raised and directed him.
Gucci Mane and his siblings, Joséphine Davis and Throwback, have a strong connection. Gucci Mane graduated from Perimeter College, which is part of Georgia State University, after attending McNair High School.

Career
In 2006, Gucci released his first indie album, ‘Trap House’, which contained the song ‘So Icy’, which he had performed with Jeezy. Despite the lack of fanfare and flourish, the album made it to the top 20 hits of the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts. ‘Trap House’ made it to the top of the Billboard Heartseekers Chart, which is a remarkable achievement for an independent album. Jeezy and Gucci had a bitter argument about acquiring the rights to the track, which led to their split.
In 2006, Gucci released his second independent album, ‘Hard to Kill’, which featured a popular single called ‘Freaky Gurl’, which eventually reached the 12th spot on Hot Rap Tracks. In 2007, he released his first commercial label single, ‘Back to the Trap House’, which featured a remix of ‘Freaky Gurl’. A recording deal with Warner Bros. was secured by Gucci Mane in May 2009 Records. Gucci appeared as a guest performer on multiple tracks and song remakes, including Maria Carey’s ‘Obsessed’. On December 8th, 2009, The State vs. Radric Davis’ second studio album was released by Warner Bros Records.
The name of his label, formerly known as ‘So Icey Entertainment’, was changed to ‘1017 Brick Squad Records’. The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted, his third studio record, was released on September 28, 2010. On August 6, 2010, his MySpace profile debuted the opening track from ‘Gucci Time’. In 2011, Gucci released his 10th EP ‘The Return of Mr. Zone 6’; the EP debuted at number 18 on Billboard 200 and till date it is his topmost charting album. ‘The Return of Mr. Zone 6’ placed second and eighth on the Rap and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, respectively.
In 2012, a mixed tape titled ‘Trap Back’ was released that featured rappers such as Future, 2 Chainz, Jayass, Waka Flocka Flame, Rocko, and Yo Gotti. Mixed tapes titled ‘I’m Up’ and ‘Trap God’ were also released by Gucci in 2012. Birdman, Meek Mill, Future, Rick Ross, and Waka Flocka Flame were prominent rappers in ‘Trap God’, and they collaborated with him on a regular basis.
