Early Life
Christina María Aguilera was born in Staten Island, New York City on December 18, 1908. Her father is Xavier Aguilera and her mother is Shelly Moraine. Her family had to relocate frequently because her father, Xavier Aguilera, was in the US army. Nonetheless, her mother was a skilled violinist and pianist. Christina Aguilera’s parents got a divorce when she was just six years old. Consequently, she relocated to reside with her maternal grandmother, who lives in Pennsylvania, alongside her mother.
Her passion for singing was always there and she was praised locally for her golden voice. Star Search was the show and competition where Christina Aguilera made her first public appearance in 1990.
