At the age of 17, Schull was given a scholarship for ballet at Indiana University Bloomington and attended. During her time at Indiana University, she became a member of Delta Delta Delta. In her sophomore year, she took part in the San Francisco Ballet School Summer Intensive as a ballet and journalism major. She obtained a scholarship to continue her studies for an extra year. Schull continued working as an apprentice after her year-long scholarship ended in 1999.
