Born May 24, 1990, Joseph Thomas Logano is an American who competes in professional stock car racing. He is a regular driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 22 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Team Penske. He has participated in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and currently the ARCA Menards Series East, ARCA Menards Series West.

Logano has won the NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2018, 2022, and 2024. Between 2009 and 2012, he was a part of Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 20 Toyota Camry team, racking up two wins, 16 top-five finishes, and 41 top-10 finishes. In 2008, he was a part-time competitor in Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 02 Toyota Camry and Hall of Fame Racing’s No. 96 Toyota Camry.

Logano has the distinction of being the first NASCAR driver born in the 1990s to have participated in all three major divisions. Only Trevor Bayne was younger than him as he became the second youngest Daytona 500 winner in 2015.

Early Life & Education

May 24th, 1990 marked the birth of the racer, Joseph Thomas Logano, in Middletown, Connecticut. Thomas J. Logano and Deborah Bidduk, who are both of Italian ancestry, are his parents. After clearing the river in Portland, he proceeded to move to Georgia, where his father was residing. His father aided him in advancing his career as a racer. During his childhood and teenage years, he used to play ice hockey and race as well.

After winning several championships as a young racer, Logano was nicknamed’sliced bread’ at a young age. During his time living in Connecticut, he began racing at the age of six. The Eastern Grand National Championship was where he won his first win in 1997.

Career

Logano started his career at a young age, and he took part in a quarter midget race at the age of 6. His first victory at the Easter Grand National Championship was established in 1997. He went on to win the junior Honda Division Championship in 1998 and the Lt. Mod Division Championship in 1999. Furthermore, he achieved three New England Regional Championship victories.

Logano entered the NASCAR Pro Truck Series, finishing in second place after starting first. In addition, he participated in seven races in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series and scored five Championship Series victories, including one at Mansfield and two during the Southern Division races.

At Dover International Speedway’s Heluva Good! event in 2008, he made his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut 200. He won the championship and became the youngest winner in the NASCAR series race in his third attempt.

Joey’s win in the National wide Series nine times in 2012 was a great year for him. Following that, he won both NNS races in 2013, becoming the first driver to win four races at Dover in any series.

Starting in 2015, he competed in the Xfinity Series in Atlanta, winning the pole and finishing in second place. Joey was crowned the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion after winning at the Homestead in 2018. Duel 1 at the Bluegreen Vacation Duels 2020 was where he began the 2020 season after winning it.
