Early Life & Education
Born on July 26, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, USA, Francia Raisa Almendárez was the daughter of Renán Almendárez Coello (a radio host) and Virginia Alméndarez. Los Angeles, California was where she was raised.She has three sisters, Irlanda (named after Ireland) and Italia (named after Italy) and Cynthia Benson.
Franca attended Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, California, and was a member of the cheerleading team. This Roman Catholic high school, Bishop Alemany, is located in Mission Hills, California, near Los Angeles.
Career
In her junior year of high school, Raisa started taking acting gigs, including print ad modeling and commercial appearances. She appeared in episodes of the sitcoms American Family: Journey of Dreams and Over There. In 2004, Raisa appeared in the music video “My Girlfriend” for Lil’ Romeo, playing the role of Tamy, and also featured in Iyaz’s video “So Big”.
Midway through her senior year, she secured her first major role, taking on the lead in Bring It On: All or Nothing. She starred alongside in the Nickelodeon movie Shredderman Rules, where she played Isabel, and in The Cutting Edge: Chasing the Dream and The Cutting Edge: Fire and Ice as Alexandra Delgado.
In 2009, Raisa appeared as a guest star in the TV series In Plain Sight on USA Network and also co-starred in a short film titled Boo, which was released on YouTube. In the year 2013, Raisa played a role in the Christmas movie Christmas Bounty, co-starring with Mike “The Miz” Mizanin.

Personal Life
Raisa donated a kidney to Selena Gomez, a singer and actress with lupus, in the summer of 2017. Later, they were informed by doctors that the compatibility test matched, and subsequently, this was conveyed to Raisa. In 2023, Raisa posted on Instagram about her latest diagnosis of polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS).
