Anthony Ramos is an American actor who gained prominence through his dual portrayals of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway production ‘Hamilton’. Ramos was born in Brooklyn, New York, and after graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2011, he pursued his studies there. In the same year of his debut, he starred in the musical ‘Grease’. Set in mid-twentieth century America, the musical centered on ten working-class teenagers who attended Rydell High School.

Early Life & Education
Born on November 1st, 1991, in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York, is Anthony Ramos Martinez. Since childhood, he has lived with his siblings, including one brother and one sister. Proudly honoring his Puerto Rican roots, he was brought up by his single working mother, Mildred.
From 2009, he graduated after studying at the New Utrecht High School, where he had earlier pursued his studies at the Halsey Junior High School. For his education, he attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and graduated in the year 2011.
Career
During the early stages of his career, Anthony Ramos had the opportunity to appear in several regional and touring musicals. His initial significant part was in the 2012 creation of ‘In the Hearts’. The tale, narrated over three days, centered on the main characters residing in the predominantly Hispanic-American neighborhood of Washington Heights, located in New York City. In 2014, he starred in a fifteen-minute musical called ’21 Chump Street’. Written by Lin Manuel Miranda, it was about a high school student who falls in love with an undercover police officer but is arrested when he tries to sell drugs to her in order to impress her.
With his debut in the 2016 American film ‘White Girl’, he took on a supporting part. Elizabeth Wood directed the film, which starred Morgan Saylor, Brian Marc, India Menuez, and Adrian Martinez. The premiere took place at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2016. In the same year, he took part in the short film ’10 Crosby’.
