Biography
De Souza is the second child of Elinor Kelly and Chris de Souza, who are both opera producers from Goan descent. Oxford, Oxfordshire is where he was born and he has an older brother called Tristan.
He pursued his talents as a pianist, clarinettist, and singer at St. Edward’s School in Oxford, where he won a music award in 2006. In the future, he completed A-levels in English, History, and Philosophy. At the Watermill Theatre, situated near Newbury, he also took acting workshops. At the North Wall Arts Centre, he performed lead roles in school productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream playing Puck, Great Expectations as Pip, C. P. Career
After a brief appearance in Nick Ross’s documentary series The Truth About Crime, on television at the age of 17, when he was cast as Matty Levan in the fifth and sixth instalment of cult drama Skins. He teamed up with Neil Jordan to create the historical drama ‘The Borgias’ for Showtime in 2012, which was filmed at Korda Studios near Budapest. At the end of the third and final season, his role as Alfonso d’Aragona, which began in The Confession, was closed. During his stay in Hungary, he made a short film called Evelyne’s World with photographer Benjamin Lebus, which was about the cave allegory and featured Evelyne Brochu.
In Julian Gilbey’s thriller Plastic, De Souza played his first major screen role. Production took place in Miami and London in early 2013. In Kids in Love, which was produced by Ealing Studios and starring De Souza, he made his cinematic debut as a screenplay writer. He played the male lead in a new freeform show called Recovery Road in 2014, which was shown for a single season in 2016.
