Sandra Annette Bullock was a resident of Arlington, Virginia suburbs, where she was born on July 26, 1964. She was born to Helga Mathilde Meyer, an opera singer and voice teacher from Germany, and John Wilson Bullock, who was an Army employee and a part-time voice coach from Birmingham, Alabama. Nuremberg was where her parents first met and Germany was where their marriage took place. Gesine Bullock-Prado is the daughter of the outstanding actress, and she has a younger sister.

While studying ballet and vocal arts, she made some minor opera appearances. In 2009, she applied for and received German citizenship while maintaining American citizenship.

At Washington-Lee High School, Sandra Bullock was a member of the cheerleading group. In addition, she was involved in theatre.
