On January 13, 1977, Orlando Bloom was brought into the world in Canterbury, United Kingdom by his parents Sonia Constance Josephine Copeland and Harry Bloom. Sonia Constance Josephine Bloom (née Copeland), his mother, was born in Kolkata, India, to an English family who had resided there at the time. Harry Bloom, the man he remembered as father, was a notable political activist who fought for civil rights in South Africa. Orlando’s father passed away when he was only four years old. He was raised by his mother and three siblings, Samantha, Steve, and Peter Bloom.
