Early Life & Education

Javier Encinas Bardem was born in Las Palmas, in the Canary Islands on March 1, 1969, and is a son of a family with a deep inclination towards Spanish cinema. Pilar Bardem, the mother of his son, was well-known for her acting, and his grandparents Rafael Bardem and Matilde Muoz Sampedro were also well-known film actors. Juan Antonio Bardem, his uncle, had a reputation as a reputable screenwriter and director. In El Pcaro, Bardem made his debut film at the age of six. He had also been a member of the Spanish National Rugby Team before committing himself fully to acting.

Bardem was exposed to the arts early on because of his family’s deep roots in the Spanish film industry. Carlos and Monica, his siblings, are also active in the entertainment industry.
