Biography
The birth date of Beabadoobee, who is also known as Beatrice Kristi Laus, was June 3, 2000, in the picturesque city of Iloilo, Philippines. Her upbringing was in West London where she listened to Pinoy music and pop and rock music from the 1990s. During her teenage years, she listened to indie rock artists such as Karen O, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Florist, and Alex G.
After attending Sacred Heart High School, an all-girls Catholic school, she finished her thirteenth term at Hammersmith Academy. Laus practiced playing the violin for seven years before buying her first guitar second-hand when she was 17. Other accomplished guitarists’ YouTube tutorials were also a source of learning for her. In September 2017, Beabadoobee’s musical career began with the captivating Coffee, her first guitar composition, and a captivating rendition of Karen O’s The Moon Song. Dirty Hit Records became interested in Coffee after she had more than 300,000 YouTube views, leading to her signing in April 2018.
She embarked on her journey with the release of her debut EP, Lice, in March 2018, followed by Patched Up in December 2018.
